“I know the plans I have for you,” announces the Lord. “I
want you to enjoy success. I do not plan to harm you. I will
give you hope for the years to come. Then you will call out to
me. You will come and pray to me. And I will listen to you.”
Jeremiah 29:11-12 NIRV

Happy New Year. The hope of Jesus Christ is alive as we renew our minds for a
blessed new year with a heart filled with hope and His promise. The new year is a time
we let go of the past with all the sickness, death, war and hurt we saw and carried. May
we be filled with comfort from the words of Jeremiah that God’s promise is to provide
us with hope and a future, even in the midst of suffering, that God is in control, and he
has not only good but awesome things in store for us. Yes, good things are in store for
us; but let us not forget and reflect back on the good things that have happened not
only individually, but within our families, our congregation, our community, our synod
and the world this past year and look with excitement and prayer as he promises to
listen when we let Him be in control and seek his wisdom.

Peace,
Your SAM, Wendy
